1958: (16.11.58) Fernando Leal Audirac was born into a family of painters, being his father one of the founders of Muralism in the 20's. 1974-78: Studies the techniques of Medieval and Renaissance painting under the direction of Master Restorer Guillermo Sánchez Lemus. 1978-80: Founding Member of the
"Restauro" workshop, collaborates with Professor Manuel
Serrano in the research of contemporary artistic utilisation
of 1980-85: Practices lithography
and etching at the" Taller de Gráfica Popular "
under the guidance of Master Printmaker José Sánchez.
Stage at the 1989-93: Founding Member of the Consultant Commission of the Mexican Endowment for the Arts and Academic Tutor of the same institution. 1993: Establishes his residence in Milan, where he currently lives and works. 1995: Represents Mexico at the
Centennial of the Venice Biennale. Is invited to assist in the
creation of a new course in painting at the Fine Arts 1996: Completes one of the first
murals at the Paolo Pini Museum of Art in Milan and for almost
ten years co-operates with that institution in the art-therapy 1997-00: Works on encaustics
and transportable frescoes, which are both of architectural and
sculptural intention, being considered one of the few artists 2003: He executed the portrait of Pope John Paul II, being the second artist which has been allowed to portray His Holiness from life. 2005: Realised the portrait of the Rector of the Virgin of Guadalupe Shrine for the collection of the Sanctuary. As well as working as a painter,
FLA has written essays on art and literature and participated
as lecturer in various educational and cultural institutions
in He has travelled, to study and work, in Europe, Asia, USA and Canada.
